    Online Safety for Parents

St Martin's Primary School have created an Online Safety for Parents page for you to access useful information about the technology that is available to children at the moment. On the St Martin's Online Safety site we have included information on social media and online gaming. Whilst these are not accessible at school and generally do come with an age rating that exceeds the age of primary school children, we are aware that a number of children are using them, so we feel it is important to include key information to help parents keep their children safe online.

    Online Safety Hub for Pupils

You will find lots of information and links about how to stay safe online and what to do if you ever find yourself in a situation that makes you feel uncomfortable. Please click here to access our e-safety hub for pupils

    Digital Leaders

Each KS2 class has a Digital Leader who has to go through an application process to apply for their role. This involves using technology to make a presentation to demonstrate their ICT skills.

The Digital Leaders have a weekly meeting which has a varied focus. For example, they might learn how to use an app ahead of their peers so that they can help support their teachers when it is used in the classroom. During other meetings they might be helping with technical support for the ipads or Chrome books. The Digital Leaders also play an important part in online safety at St Martin’s. They read and review our Pupil Acceptable Use policies annually, using pupil voice to suggest changes and influence practice. They lead online safety assemblies to their peers, delivering important messages about staying safe online. They also contribute to our online safety newsletters. Pupil voice is again important, as the Digital Leaders decide what they think are the most important issues at the time to focus on.

The Digital Leaders are also responsible for helping to make sure that their class is using equipment respectfully and that it is being plugged in after each lesson so that it can charge.
